Don’t Leave Your Post in the Web of Life

I am sitting with my connections in the Web of Life and learning about what is needed from us right now. What came is that when we go off seeking answers outside of ourselves, when we go off in our heads to past or future, we abandon our post in the Web of Life. We are being called to be really present and to be aware of our immediate connections. This is how we can be most effective. We don’t need to worry about what is going on beyond our remit, what other people are up to, just what is ours to do and how we are in relationship with our nearest neighbours.

I was shown that it falls to the people of this time to be really conscious and intentional. We are raising ourselves, our children and grandchildren, our students, in our every action. We are creating the social norms and systems that become the blueprint for generations to come. So we need to question everything. We need to examine all of those connections and ask whether we are in right relationship. We should not overcomplicate things by creating systems that need some kind of accountant or expert to understand and govern. We need to slow down and listen deeply, especially to our Wild kin and come to an understanding of how to live in balance and harmony from a deep knowing that we are part of an interbeingness and that what we do impacts us all. It is hard not to worry about the big picture with that kind of responsibility, but if we are truly in alignment with the greatest good locally, then we will be in alignment globally.

This deep listening is really hard to do. I know this from personal experience. It takes practice and we often hold it in low regard. It entails an exquisite intimacy with ourselves and with the Web of Life. We have learned to turn to books and other people for guidance, to intellectual concepts, rather than seeking wisdom within. I know that I have done this too. Spiritual wisdom is often not in the form of words, but can be distinctly abstract. It can be in the form of dreams, images, feelings, even smells, but we have to learn to trust this and to interpret it. That is not always easy and it can feel frustrating, but it’s just like learning any new skill. That is not to say that there is no value in the intellectual or in our minds. Quite the contrary. The problem is in over-reliance on our rational, problem-solving skills and the domination especially of fear-based thought.

The guidance I received today said that it is always going to be dark and confusing when we step outside of ourselves, when we step away from our station in the Web of Life – we can only illuminate things from our centre and we are very much needed to do this right now.
