Permaculture is widely associated with growing food in a sustainable way. However, it is about far more than growing plants. It is a way of living that embodies values including sustainability and compassion. It recognises the importance of planning and design – this is not something you rush headlong into without first considering the land and ecology and your overall aims. 

It incorporates principles such as living in harmony with nature, enhancing biodiversity, caring for the soil, taking care of people and ensuring that we take only what we need.
